Update on my Connection Project

For the Connection Project, it was a new direction in Art, one I had never taken. The goal was to choose two things, subjects that were different, yet the same, and connect them. I listed many such subjects, but the one that stood out was humanity's connection to nature, vice versa. At first, my plan was to make a short film about how humanity has created technology, and point out how this has affected nature. The film never left paper, however, so I embarked on a new medium, using Paris craft. I created a man, who seemed to be writhing in pain, with a tree growing from his middle. I felt that this is a could metaphor for how humanity treats nature. We plant our buildings in her body, so it would just seems the opposite for her to plant a tree in a person. Maybe you get a sense of something else entirely, but that's ok.
